Jersey Airport (JER)
Airport Information

(Jersey, Channel Islands)

Jersey Information and Tourism: Scenic photo of Mont Orgueil CastleThe gateway to the tiny Channel Island of Jersey and a convenient hub for flights to other islands in the English Channel, Jersey Airport (JER) is popular with both tourists and also with business travellers. Jersey Airport features just one terminal and is an important base for its very own airline, Blue Islands, which flies to a number of nearby destinations, including Guernsey and the Isle of Man.

Lying within Jersey's St. Peter region, the airport is to be found directly north of St. Aubin and St. Brelade, south of St. Ouen and to the north-west of St. Helier and St. Lawrence. A year in the life of this important air facility sees around one and a half million passengers arriving and departing on over 80,000 air movements, with the increasing number of cheap flights to Jersey, by airlines such as EasyJet and Flybe, contributing greatly to its popularity and constant year-round traffic. Of note, the airport has recently announced a new postal service at the information desk, which is operated by Jersey Post and known within the terminal as 'J Post'.

There is a good range of ground transportation options on offer at Jersey Airport. Visitors can opt to use local public buses (bus no. 15) to reach St. Helier, while shuttles, limos or taxi cabs are also on hand to get around the island. Two car rental agencies - Europcar and Hertz - have booths at the airport and fleets on standby.

About Jersey Tourism

The Channel Island of Jersey is steeped in history. There are many sites around the island worth visiting, such as medieval castles, WWII tunnels and charming villages and hamlets. The island has an interesting culture, with a mixture of French and English traditions coupled with a distinctive Jersey charm. The island is also perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, with many golf courses, cycling routes, rambling areas, fishing spots, beaches and boating facilities.

The town of St. Helier is the island's capital and extremely close to Jersey Airport (JER) itself. St. Helier is home to many of the main attractions, beaches and marinas. The seafood is excellent in St. Helier and many notable waterfront restaurants here specialise in fresh fish, often offering harbour views as you dine.
